"Gary Faigin & Pamela Belyea of Gage put together an amazingly engaging, exciting, memorable tour which suited the lover of art as well as the architectural admirer, the curious child as well as the sophisticated adult. I highly recommend taking a tour with this unbelievably smart, creative, well organized and lovely duo." --- Cathy Sarkowsky with her son, Max, 10, 2007 Paris Family Art Tour
"The family tour to Paris was an incredible experience for my 10-year-old daughter and me. Gary's passion for art made each of the museum visits memorable for kids and adults alike, and Pamela was great at keeping things organized and on track. The tour was well curated, from the Peter Paul Rubens Medici cycle in the Louvre, to the politcal art at the Musée d'Orsay (I knew little about the museum. other than to recognize the famous clock, before the tour), to the recognizable Monet water lilies covering the walls of a room at L'Orangerie and then seeing the real water lilies at Giverny in Paris, followed my daughter's favorite experience - visitng the wheat fields Van Gogh painted in Auvers. There was a great mix of planned activities, as well as flexible time to enjoy the great food and sights of Paris." --- Diane Butler with her daughter, Hazel, 10, 2007 Paris Family Art Tour
“An excellent trip! Great lectures by Gary and organization by Pamela! I learned a lot. I’ll stick with kid tours from now on!" --- Buzz Tenenbom with his daughter Emily, 10, 2001 London Family Art Tour
"It was a fabulous, once-in-a-lifetime trip for Emma and me, to which we both look back fondly, even after several other big trips. Whether it was the syncronicity of people and time/place or just your gifted leadership, it was very special. Thanks, again." --- Doug Bayley with his daughter Emma, 10, 2000 Paris Art Tour
Your Guides: Gary Faigin & Pamela Belyea, co-founders and Directors of Gage.
During this spectacular one-week tour designed for young teens and their parents, we spend one week in Spain, dividing our time between Barcelona, the Catalonia port city, and Madrid, the capital in the center of the country.
In Barcelona, we explore the unique art and architecture of this beautiful city from the medieval palace that houses
Pablo Picasso's earliest art works to the fanciful building and park by
Antoni Gaudi to
Salvador Dali's residence and museum in Figureres, definitely the strangest home you have ever seen!
The highlights of our stay in Madrid include great museums: the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofia where you learn about historical Spanish artists from the late medieval to living artists today. We also take a day trip to "Holy" Toledo, the medieval hilltop town filled with an amazing numbers of churches, some intriguing paintings and a wonderful cathedral.
Your Art of Spain Tour includes three nights in Barcelona, and four nights in Madrid in first-class hotels; continental breakfasts daily; two dinners and one lunch; day trips to Toledo and Figueres ; fully staffed educational program; and all local travel and museum admissions. Group size not larger than seven tour families. International travel and airport transfers, personal expenses and optional tips are extra. Hotel and final itinerary may vary.
