Newcomers to seasoned tour participants bring a passion for art and lively dialogue to the tour’s esprit de corps.
Your Guide: Artist, Educator, Author & Critic, GARY FAIGIN, Artistic Director of Gage Academy of Art.

Our ten-night tour begins in Madrid, home to three of the world’s most remarkable museums: the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofia. Within their majestic galleries we view masterpieces spanning Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights to Picasso’s Guernica. We devote one afternoon to touring the home and studio of Sorolla, as well as one day in El Greco’s home town of Toledo – the heart of La Mancha’s Spain.

We complete our tour with five days dedicated to exploring the sophisticated and vibrant Mediterranean port of Barcelona, including the architecture of Antoni Gaudi and museums devoted to Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Jean Miro, Romanesque frescos, Renaissance masterpieces, as well as the remarkable Gothic quarter in the center of town. We include a day trip from Barcelona to Bilbao to delight in Europe’s latest art haven, the gleaming Museo Guggenheim de Arte Contemporaneo, designed by architect Frank Gehry.

Your Arte d’Espana Tour includes five nights in Madrid, and five nights in Barcelona in first-class hotels; continental breakfasts daily; two dinners and one lunch; day trips to Toledo, Figueres and Bilbao; fully staffed educational program; and all local travel and museum admissions. Group size not larger than eighteen participants. International travel and airport transfers, personal expenses and optional tips are extra. Hotel and final itinerary may vary.
